Strawberries!

February 17, 2009

My older sister had a BIG birthday last week,… I wanted to get this post up on her birthday, but wasn’t able to get it all together in time. But, we can imagine it’s still her birthday or that we’re just extending her birthday wishes a week later,…there’s nothing wrong in that, right?!

And yes,… if you are wondering we are FULLY BLOOD RELATED sisters. We have the same mother and father, we took baths together when we were younger, we fought over clothes (mostly when I tried to copy how she dressed or when I stole them!),… I know we do not look very alike, but yes! we are sisters (there was no milkman involved, I promise!)!

All that aside,… she did get her birthday package today! (I try to do things on time,… but it just doesn’t always happen that way!)

I was so excited for her to receive it as I made her personalized strawberry stationary!! I’m LOVING Illustrator. I know I’m still only beginning to see just a bit of what it can do, which gets me excited! If I’m already freaking out about little things, just think when I start to get a grasp of even more advanced stuff!

For the stationary, I hand drew the strawberries, along with her name and then scanned them into my computer. After this, Ivectorized the image, adjusted it in Illustrator, added some color, and then printed them out. (I know I’ve gone through thisbefore)

I think I’m in love with these. I was freaking out when they were printing… I just couldn’t get over how precious they were and how perfect they were for my sis!

I then went a little crazy and started printing them on different card stocks. I ended up liking them on the light green card stock the best.

And look at the return address (I had to blur out her address, but it was in a fun swirly font)!!

I’m in love, I tell you! So fun!! Oh, and by the way,…I found those cute, strawberry tea towels at Sur La Table...great store!
